My Goodness. Must be a run on drives going down.
I am in the process of formating Mojo 27 now, drive failed, I had 1 left. I hooked the drive up as a slave and saved the node, just barely, before it completely died. Mojo 25 didn't want to boot up Sat, I bumped drive on the shelf a couple times, it started. It is running a little slow, but running for the moment. Not sure how long. I have had 2 other drives that has been rather noisy for quite awhile in Mojo 23 & 24, I can't believe they are still running, they just keep "grinding" away. If any one knows where we can find some drives. I have not seen any around locally for awhile. We used to find some older systems for parts at the local Goodwill Stores, but none for several months now. Mike. |

I have a few parts laying around. I will ship free if it's used for crunching.
P3 Motherboard with a Celeron 700 mhz processor 2 sticks of ram I believe 32 mb each 2.5 gig HD ethernet card bunch of cables cd rw drive 4x I believe 2 floppy drives If I could find a power supply for the mb I would bolt it to a piece of plywood and crank it up.. The MB and RAM were out of an old Dell. -------------------- Scott

Thanks SPM... I'm sure someone would be able to use that hard drive for a blade.
Hawk, you won't believe this, but both of those drives your sent are dead. Not sure if something happened on shipping or what. The Maxtor sounded like it was beeping. Apparently this means something's stuck... the other drive is having other problems. It worked for a few minutes, but now it's hosed. So, back to the search for drives. -------------------- Hope is why we are here...

I know I am showing my ignorance and laziness in not searching but, what is the minimum size we can use? I'll see if I cannot put the "squeeze" on one of the local shops and see what they might have for pulls that they would like to donate... If he will not run the program on the systems he has in the shop for me, if he wishes to continue having me as a customer I think he will get my drift...

I have 2 power supplies, a MB, and a processor.
Not sure what condition they are in, but I will be glad to ship them to anyone that wants to take the time to test them. I can get the specs off of them tonight and post them. |

Post the specs. If nothing else, we may be able to use them as spare parts, but that may be a blade we can bring on line.

PSU
POWMAX ATX Switching Power Supply Model Number LP-8800D 400 W Max PSU Powerup Switching Power Supply Model LC-B350ATX Shuttle MN31N Motherboard AMD Athlon 2500 Processor Seagate 10G HDD Now, I found all this stuff while cleaning out a closet, so I have no idea if it's any good or not. I think the PSU's and processor are. But I don't know about the MB or the HDD. |

I've got a new (never used, still in the box) heatsink and at least one hard drive I can contribute. I'll check the specs for both and post back later this evening.

I have an old laptop computer. It is only a 266Mhz processor, 96 meg of ram and a 3GB hard drive. The battery is dead, but it works with the AC cord. Can you use it?

I would unfortunately say no to the processors, although thank you very much for the offer. We try to keep a pretty standard setup and CPU is one of those things that we like our hosts to get new and higher end processors.
We don't currently use motherboards with SCSI, but if someone had a SCSI controller then I believe we could use the drives, right??? -------------------- Hope is why we are here...
