I posted this http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,703...=seti~mode=flat at Slava's prompting to the SETI forum just asking for some ideas on what parts they may recommend. If anyone wants to put their 2 cents in, go right ahead. I think we'll get some good ideas here since, as Slava pointed out, they've done this all before.

Looks to me like you've got it covered pretty well. Hopefully they'll have some good tips for us... knowing some posters from Team Starfire, I'm sure we'll get some great feedback.

Sounds good. Hopefully we'll get some solid advice.

Well what is the price range? I'm sure your looking more at the AMD's then the P4's, but i don't know what would be better. If AMD:

AMD ATHLON XP 2500 Barton http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?...-103-379&DEPA=1

MSI Motherboard K7N2G-L http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?...2G%2DL%28MS%2D6

Buffalo Technology 128MB PC2700 DDR Memory Module 16X8 http://www.newegg.com/app/Viewproduct.asp?...0128MB%20PC2700

MAXTOR 30GB 7200RPM http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?...OR+30GB+7200RPM
The HD you might be able to get cheaper with Best Buy with rebates.

I'm sure you could get it cheaper if you got a XP2400+, then you would only need PC2100 ram. I hope more people post on this.
